Liana Handler

Liana Handler is the Editor-in-Chief for Grandstand Magazine and a senior at the University of Florida. As a 2026 graduate, she's majoring in journalism with a concentration in sports and media and minoring in Spanish.

In the past, she's had bylines in the Tampa Bay Times, The Baltimore Banner, the Orlando Sentinel, the Independent Florida Alligator and WUFT News. She's also a member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ), Association for Women in Sports Media (AWSM) and she was selected as a part of the Sports Journalism Institute's 2025 class.

Currently, she is the lead UF baseball beat reporter for WRUF. After graduation, she aspires to be a print beat reporter, covering baseball for The Athletic. Her favorite stories focus on the intersection of sports, culture and community. In her free time, she enjoys watching Jane Austen movies, sewing and playing dominos with her family and friends.
