Sam Zimmermann

Staff Writer

Sam Zimmermann is a Staff Writer for Grandstand Magazine. He is a senior at the University of Florida.

Born in Washington, D.C., Sam fell in love with storytelling in preschool when he was cast as “The Narrator” in his class's rendition of Margaret Wild's "Piglet and Mama." Motivated by his grandmother's experience of immigrating from Argentina to the United States, Sam is determined to write stories that inspire readers to find hope in action.

Today, he studies journalism and media production while working as a senior copywriter for The Agency at UF and copy chief for Grandstand Magazine. He also has reported for ESPN Gainesville, WUFT News, WRUF Gainesville and Atrium Magazine.

In his free time, Sam watches the Wizards lose games, the Commanders draft the wrong player and Florida Gators football fall short of lofty expectations. When he’s not complaining about sports, Sam likes to sketch comics, wrestle with his cat, Cosmo, and cook alongside his girlfriend, Erika.
